Publicity Suggestions
News Releases

Customize the release on this
page and print it on club letterhead. Send it to local
newspapers, television, cable and radio stations at least two
weeks prior to your event.

A day or two before the event,
call the media and request a reporter and photographer or camera
crew to cover your event.

Send a thank-you letter to the
appropriate media if your event is covered.

Send a follow-up news release
after your event. Include photos and statistics you may have on
attendance, interesting occurrences, notable attendees, etc.

Your Project Report postcard is
due at Headquarters after you conduct your project and before
Nov. 14. The information may be used in a national news release.
Advertising
If your club would like to place a
National Day of Service ad in a local newspaper, they can be
downloaded from the website at www.nationalexchangeclub.org/memberarea.
Proclamations
Educate a local public official or
celebrity about your club’s activities. Ask the mayor to sign a
proclamation endorsing your club’s event.
PSAs
Television PSAs featuring Malcolm Jamal
Warner, Tia Mowry and Amy Davidson are available. Submit them to
television and cable broadcast stations or show them at a club
event. Radio PSAs are also available on CD promoting Exchange and
