Carmack, a member of the Exchange Clubs of Mechanicsville and Glen-Allen Richmond, Virginia, was elected national president-elect of the National Exchange Club at the organization’s 2008 national convention in St. Louis, Missouri. Previously, he served two terms as national treasurer (2003-05 and 2005-07). Prior to that Carmack served four years as regional vice president, Region 11. A Certified Public Accountant and Certified Financial Planner™, he is the owner and president of Hanover Financial Services, Ltd. and Claude W. Carmack, CPA, P.C. Carmack joined the Exchange Club of Greenspoint, Texas, as a charter member in 1979. On the local club level, he served on the board of directors, as president-elect and president, in addition to serving on various club committees. For the Virginia District Exchange Clubs, he served on the district board of directors and as president-elect before serving as district president in 1992-1993. He has helped build four new Exchange Clubs and has served as a volunteer field representative since 1995. For the National Exchange Club, Carmack is a member of the Personnel and 501(c)(3) Committees. Previously, he served as chairman of the National Budget and Finance Committee and as a member of the Technology Committee, the Convention Site and Planning Committee, and the Strategic Planning Task Force. Claude received the Virginia District’s Exchangite of the Year Award twice in 1997 and 2003. He has been involved with the Boy Scouts, assisting with membership and fundraising programs, and has served as a volunteer teacher for the Small Business Administration and the Entrepreneur Institute at a local community college. Carmack attended the University of Richmond, Virginia, receiving a bachelor’s degree, and the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where he earned a master of accountancy degree. He and his wife, Frances, have three children and two grandchildren. |
