FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEDate: August 19, 2008 To: News Directors, Assignment Editor From: Michelle Mazzei, Communications Director, the National Exchange Club, 800/924-2643, mmazzei@nationalexchangeclub.org, Web site: www.nationalexchangeclub.org Lake Forest Resident Elected National Exchange Club TreasurerRon Lashmett, a member of the Exchange Club of South Orange County and a charter member of the University Exchange Club at Irvine, Calif., was elected National Treasurer at the National Convention in Portland, Oregon, in July 2007. Previously, he served as Regional Vice President for Region 1 of the National Exchange Club from January 2005 to June 2007. He is a Certified Public Accountant and heads his own firm, Lashmett and Associates. Lashmett joined Exchange in 1994. He has held a variety of positions at the club level including treasurer, president-elect and president in 1997-1998. For the California-Nevada District Exchange Clubs, he served as chairman of the Trophies and Awards Committee, on the board of directors, and as president-elect, before going on to serve as president in 2002-2003. For the National Exchange Club, he chairs the Budget and Finance Committee and is a member of the Personnel and 501(c)(3) Committees. He previously chaired the Investment Committee. Lashmett attended Mesa Junior College, Grand Junction, Colo., and earned a bachelor’s of arts degree from California State University, Fullerton, Calif. He served four years in the U.S. Navy. He and his wife Shirley reside in Lake Forest, Calif., and have five grown children and nine grandchildren. # # # |
