Folly Beach Resident Elected National Exchange Club Regional Vice President

Margie Miller, a member of the Exchange Club of Folly Beach and the University Exchange Club of Charleston, S.C., was re-elected to a second two-year term as Regional Vice President, Region 10, of the National Exchange Club at the organization’s 2008 National Convention in St. Louis, Missouri. Miller is employed as the clerk of court by the Folly Beach Municipal Court. She retired from the U.S. Navy as a civilian accountant, and the U.S. State Department as International Banking Specialist.

Miller joined the Exchange Club of Folly Beach in 1998 and the University Exchange Club of Charleston in 2004. Active in her club, she served on the board of directors and as secretary, president-elect and president. She also held several committee chairmanships.

For the South Carolina District, Miller served on the district’s board, and later went on to hold the offices of treasurer, president-elect and in 2004-05, assumed the position of district president. She also chaired the district Awards and Finance Committees. For the National Exchange Club, Miller chairs the Strategic Planning Task Force and serves on the Budget and Finance Committee. Previously, she chaired the Program of Service Committee and served on the Strategic Planning Task Force and Awards Committee.

For her community and church, Miller belonged to the Folly Beach Civic Club for several years and served as secretary of the Folly Beach United Methodist Women. She currently serves on the finance committee and as trustee of the Pastor/Parish Relations Committee. She also serves on the board of the Exchange Club Center in North Charleston.  Miller received a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Baptist College, Charleston, S.C., She and her husband, Fenton, have two grown children and one grandchild.
